Recommend a book

Let's start a list of recommended reading. Tell the class about a book you think they should read. Be sure to include the title, author, genre, and a brief summary. What makes this a great book to read? We want as many different titles on this list as possible. Don't repeat another person's recommendation.

I recommend the book, The Name of This Book is Secret by Pseudonymous Bosch. It is a mysterious adventure. It is VERY mysterious, but it is an adventure. It is written in a very interesting way. The book is about a girl supposedly named “ass” and her partner “Max-Ernest.” The author says that those are not their real names, and he must keep them secret for “safety reasons.” Cass and Max-Ernest are normal kids who go to school. They somehow get involved into a war between two secret societies! The Midnight Sun and the Terces Society are fighting to the finish to find out “The Secret.” Read the book to find out what happens!

I think you should read Love, Ruby Lavender, by Deborah Wiles. This funny book is about Ruby Lavender and Miss Eula, the best grandmother-granddaughter team in the whole state of Mississippi. They do everything together: paint the house, have picnics, even steal chickens! But Miss Eula goes to Hawaii to visit Ruby’s new cousin… Poor Ruby! Stuck in her boring Mississippi town to be teased and yelled at by Melba Jane.
But Ruby’s life is looking up.

The Great Good Thing (Fantasy) by Rodrick Townley In The Great Good Thing, the characters live in books like plays. The main character, Sylvie, plays here part as a princess, but when the castle is burnt, she moves into the reader’s mind. When the castle is fixed, Sylvie has found the jester has taken over. Sylvie finds a way to trick the jester into giving back the castle. The story is rewritten and everyone who didn’t agree with the first ending lives happily ever after.

If you are a girl, I recommend the series, "Dear Dumb Diary,". The genre is Realistic Fiction. The author is Jim Benton. This series is mainly about Jamie, Isabella, and the "perfect" Angeline. At first, Isabella and Jamie both abhor Angeline because of her perfection, but they grow to be friends as the series goes on. It is a VERY VERY VERY hilarious and eventful series, and i really hope you read it! :D

The BFG by Roald Dahl (fantasy)

This story is about a girl named Sophie who gets kidnapped by a friendly giant named the BFG(big friendly giant). The other giants are all big, hairy, mean, human –eating brutes. Sophie and the BFG work together to stop the other giants.

It is quite a crazy story. Be prepared.

I reccomend the book, Candymakers, to everyone. It is about 4 kids entering a candy making contest. The first contestant is the candymakers son. The second contestant is a boy that is very secretive and is too serious about winning. The third is a girl pretending to be a cheery, bright, sunny person but is actually a spy. The fourth contestant is just a regular boy who is obsessed with the afterlife. They all come clean and become friends at the end. Everything worked out because someone mentioned somethijng about coffee.

I would reccomend the Series of Unfortunate Events. I think it is a well written series filled with excitement, adventure, mystery, and suspense. The only bad part about it is that when you start it, you want to finish it so much that you forget to do your homework and your parents get mad at you. The Series of Unfortunate Events will make you sit on the edge of your chair.
